• Seasonal Symbolism: It precedes Greenery Day (May 4th), which celebrates nature. Matcha, as a deeply natural and plant-based practice, is the perfect lead-in to this national appreciation of green life.
• Japanese Wordplay: The numbers in “May 2” (5/2) sound like “ma” and “tsu” in Japanese—forming the word “matcha” phonetically. This type of meaningful wordplay is a beloved cultural tradition in Japan.
