If you’ve scrolled TikTok or Instagram lately, you’ve probably seen the viral Dubai Chocolate Bar — a milk chocolate bar stuffed with creamy pistachio and crunchy knafeh (shredded phyllo pastry). Originating from Fix Dessert Chocolatier in Dubai, this dessert quickly became an internet favorite for its rich layers, decadent pistachio flavor, and that satisfying pull-apart moment.
Naturally, we were inspired. But instead of recreating it as a dessert, we wanted to craft a drinkable version — still rich, still indulgent — but with our signature twist: matcha.
Why We Made a Matcha Pistachio Chocolate Drink?
Dubai’s chocolate bar is all about bold flavors — creamy pistachio, sweet milk chocolate, and crunchy layers. But when thinking about creating a drink, we wanted something balanced: indulgent but not overwhelmingly sweet. That’s where matcha comes in.
Matcha’s natural earthiness balances the sweetness of pistachio syrup and milk chocolate, creating a layered flavor experience. The result? A rich, nutty drink with just enough bitterness to keep you sipping.
This is our take on the viral chocolate bar — creamy, comforting, and perfect for matcha lovers who don’t want to miss out on the trend.
Matcha Pistachio Chocolate Drink Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 oz pistachio syrup (adjust to your sweetness preference)
- 1 oz melted milk chocolate (good quality)
- 1 tsp Isshiki ceremonial-grade matcha powder
- 2 oz hot water (175°F)
- 8 oz milk of choice (we love oat or whole milk for extra creaminess)
Optional: crushed pistachios or a pinch of sea salt for garnish
Instructions:
1. Whisk the Matcha: Sift matcha into a bowl, add 2 oz hot water, and whisk until smooth and frothy. Set aside.
2. Create the Pistachio Chocolate Base: In a small pot over low heat, warm the milk. Stir in pistachio syrup and melted milk chocolate until fully combined and smooth.
3. Assemble the Drink: Pour the pistachio chocolate milk into your cup. Gently pour the matcha over for a layered look, or stir everything together for a rich, green blend.
4. Garnish (Optional): Top with crushed pistachios or a light sprinkle of sea salt for a flavor boost.
Serve hot for cozy vibes or over ice for a refreshing treat.
