Why single cultivar?

Most matcha is a blend. Ours comes from a single cultivar: one tea varietal, one harvest. You taste the character of the leaf itself: Yabukita’s bold umami or Samidori’s creamy sweetness, with nothing averaged out.

Not what I expected

"I was very happy to be getting this matcha after trying a not so good one that was very bitter and bland. When I smelled the matcha it had this smell that was kind of like grass or woody sent, and when I made it into usucha it was very astringent and bland. When made into koicha it was very bitter, I was disappointed because I got this matcha to make usucha but the flavor isn’t right for that. Overall the flavor wasn’t there, and would not purchase again."

"Amazing matcha, I think its worth the price knowing there's a matcha shortage going on. Authentic, nutty, and chocolate-y notes. A little thick when whisked. Buying again!"

"This matcha has a very balanced flavor. It makes a very creamy matcha latte especially when cold whisked. It’s very smooth."

As someone who drinks matcha

"As someone who drinks matcha every day and has tried quite a few in market, I really enjoy this one! It’s smooth, a bit nutty and perfectly rich but not overpowering! Love it. It’s a re-purchase for me!"

Andy L. (5/5)

"This matcha powder is nice, but really not that special. Hardly any umami even as a koicha, wasn’t really unique in any way. It gets the job done without impressing. If this were a $30 product, it would be a 3/5. But at $52 it’s badly overpriced. Loses a star for that and I won’t be buying again."
